**Warnings : Good ( not excellent ) quality subs, little pauses between scenes
Summary : The quartet are sent by the Merciful Goddess to obtain the Jade Pearl, which can grant any wish. In the way, they come across a village, where a mysterious girl magically treats people back to normal. And along comes the Kougaiji group to snatch up the same pearl. When this girl is confronted by the Sanzo-ikkou, she tries to escape the reality, and meets a monk. They plan to leave the town to move onto the other villages needing the girl’s help. How will it all end?
This OVA is considered to be a sequel of the Saiyuki TV series – 1st season, after the Homura arc. As it has been extracted from an interactive game, there are slight pauses at each scene break.

A mysterious light falls from the Heavens. It's the Pearl Jade. It can grant any wish. Dr. Ni tells Gyokumen Koushu about it. Lirin overhears and tells Kougaiji. Then Kanzeon Bosatsu (The Merciful Goddess) requests "orders" Sanzo and company to go and find and seal it before it falls into the wrong hands.

Saiyuki: Premium OAV subbed
This 1999 OAV is the earliest adaptation of Saiyuki made by Tokyo Kids. DO NOT confuse it with Saiyuki TV and its sequels made by Pierrot or the new OAV to be released on 2007-04-27. Note that 3 out of 4 main casts are different, with the exception of Akira Ishida as Cho Hakkai remained the same in the TV series.
